Tree & Plant Care
Your plants will be shipped in specially designed packaging to protect young trees and delicate plants during transit. Most of our trees are 1–2 years old and typically measure under 70cm in height. All plants are cell-grown in trays (similar to plug plants), which allows for safe transport and easy planting with intact roots.
What to Do When Your Plants Arrive
Please follow these care and planting instructions promptly upon receiving your delivery:
Remove all packaging and protective materials (plastic wrap, cardboard, etc.)
Check moisture: Ensure the root plugs are slightly moist. Water lightly if dry.
Choose a suitable planting site:
Well-drained soil
Full sun or partial shade
Room for the plant to grow to full size
Prepare the soil:
Loosen compacted or clay-heavy soil before planting
Plant properly:
Dig a hole slightly wider and deeper than the root plug
Cover the root plug with approximately ¾ inch (2cm) of soil
Firm the soil around the plant to eliminate air pockets
Keep the area around the plant weed-free
If You Need to Delay Planting
If you need to transport the plants elsewhere, you can keep them in the original packaging for up to 1 week from the shipping date. However, unpacking and planting them as soon as possible is always best.
If you’re unable to plant immediately, you can temporarily store your plants for up to 4 weeks outdoors by:
Removing all packaging, including any plastic or mesh around the roots
Placing them in a shallow container or tray
Keeping them away from strong wind
Making sure the root plugs remain moist
